Nurse Educator - Travel within BC

Pro Vita is looking for Nurse Educator (LPN or RN) with a passion for the elderly to join our team in assisting with education of our various nursing and care teams throughout BC, as well as quality assurance and improvement, working closely with and reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance.

Shift(s) Will vary, however usually between the hours of 7am-7pm
Wage*:  $70,000

Nurse Educator Must Haves:

  • Graduation from a recognized nursing program recognized by the BCCNM.
  • Holds an active registration with the BCCNM as an LPN or RN. 
  • Maintain Occupational First Aide Level 1 status and CPR A.
  • RAI MDS Education in Gold Care or Point Click Care.
  • Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written.

Nurse Educator Nice to Haves:

  • 2 years Gerontological experience.
  • Knowledge of gerontology, geriatrics, and the needs of adults living with chronic illness.
  • Specialized knowledge of assessment and planning for clients with complex geriatric needs.

Nurse Educator Responsibilities:

  • Provides dedicated leadership to nursing and care staff. 
  • Participates in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of orientation and on-going internal education programs.
  • Provide quality improvement activities, and leads the monitoring, evaluating and improvement of resident care. 
  • Develops and delivers hands-on, comprehensive internal trainings and education at various facilities. 
  • Mentors and coaches staff, creates and implements action plans and strategies to align individuals and individual facilities with organizational objectives.
  • Performs audits and quality assurance activities.
  • Participates in various organizational committees.
  • Assist with development, implementation and evaluation of documentation and reporting systems to maintain accurate records and communication within care programs and delivery.
